**All operations with Calculate are operated between columns.**

Results from the operation will be displayed in a new Output column, which you can optionally rename.

## Sum

Select two or more columns to calculate the sum of their values, for each row.

### Options:

Using the 'and' dropdown, choose one of the following options:

**And cell value**. Select the row and column of a specific cell, for example`A2`

. The value of that cell will be added to the result of the operation.**Add constant value**. Enter a constant number to add it to the result of the operation.

## Subtract

Select two columns to calculate the difference between their values, for each row.

## Multiply

Select two or more columns to calculate the product of their values, for each row.

## Divide

Select two columns to divide the values of one by the values of the other, for each row.

## Average

The average is the calculated "central" value of a set of numbers.

It is the sum of all the numbers, divided by how many numbers there are, for example:

What is the average of 2, 7, and 9?

1. Add the numbers: 2 + 7 + 9 = 18

2. Divide by how many numbers (i.e. we added 3 numbers): 18 รท 3 = 6

The average is 6.

## Median

The "median" is the "middle" value in the list of numbers. To find the median, your numbers have to be listed in numerical order from smallest to largest, for example:

4, 5, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 32, 205

There are nine numbers in this list, so the middle one will be the 5th number. The median is 14.

## Minimum and Maximum

Select two or more columns to calculate the maximum or minimum value, for each row.

## Percentage Change

Percent change can be defined as the difference between the old and new value of a quantity expressed in percentages.

Select the column that stores the old values and the column that stores the new values to calculate the percentage change between old and new values, for each row.

## X is what percent of Y?

*X is what percent of Y* is calculated by dividing *X* by *Y* and multiplying the result by 100 to get the percentage.

## What is X percent of Y?

*What is X% of Y* is calculated by dividing *X* by 100 and multiplying the result by *Y*.
